Musica dei Negri

Fondamentalmente le tracce di questa raccolta, come si suol dire, affondano le proprie radici nel blues e i suoi derivati (r&b, soul, funk).
Il delta blues di John Lee Hooker precede la seminale Mannish Boy di Muddy Waters del ’55,  considerata uno “standard” del blues. A seguire, due icone del rhythm&blues (Sam and Dave e Booker T), il classico di BB King ed il funk di altissimo livello di Isaac Hayes, campionato anche nel successivo brano dei Geto Boys.
Poi arriva il pezzo proto-tutto (soul, funk, hip-hop) del pluricitato Gil Scott-Heron che introduce il momento funk anni ’70.
Dopo altre chicche più o meno famose si arriva al mio pezzo dei J.B.’s preferito e si chiude in bellezza con i Public Enemy, i più rock di tutti.
